Alerts

Most alerts are now made on the chart's Alert panel. This page keeps three things you still need: the step-by-step builder for live price alerts on a watch list or a sector, the settings that apply to all your alerts, and a button to test your phone.

What

What this page is

The page has three tabs: My alerts, New alert, and History & settings. The line at the top right shows how many alerts you have on and how many your plan allows.

My alerts lists every alert you have made — from this page, from the chart's Alert panel and from Portfolio → Alerts. Each row has an on/off switch, Edit and Delete.

New alert is a builder in three steps: 1. pick what to watch, 2. set it up and pick the stocks, 3. choose how often and where to send it. It can watch one stock, your watch list, a sector or the whole market.

History & settings shows every alert that fired, and the settings that apply to all alerts: where new alerts are sent, quiet hours, sound, watch-list alerts and your phones.

An alert only tells you something happened. It never buys or sells.

Why

Why it helps you

If you trade
Days to weeks · you care about timing and the crowd.
  • The builder is the place for a live alert on your whole watch list or one sector — for example "any stock in my watch list moves 3% today".
  • Watch-list alerts tell you when the price reaches the Buy, Sell or Stop price you wrote in the chart's Watch List panel. Switch them on once and every row is watched.
  • For indicators, SMC, patterns, Fibonacci, volume profile and the other chart signals, use the Alert panel on the chart — it has the full list.
If you invest
Months to years · you care about quality and price paid.
  • Quiet hours stop phone pushes at night; the alerts still wait for you in the list.
  • "One summary after close" sends one email after the market instead of an email for each alert.
  • Book close, bonus, dividend and the profit or loss of what you hold are on Portfolio → Alerts.
When · Where

When to use it, and where to find it

  • Once, when you install the phone app — link it and press Send test.
  • When you want the same rule on many stocks you already listed (watch list or sector).
  • When you want to see every alert that fired, from every place, in one list.
Where — Top navigation → Experimental → Alerts
  • Experimental → Alerts in the top menu.
  • The chart's Alert panel (AL button) is where chart-signal alerts are made — see the Alert guide in this document.
How to

Try it — a short walkthrough

  1. 1
    Open New alert
Press the New alert tab. Step 1 shows cards: Price, High / Low, Volume, Order flow, Indicator, Candle type, Marks, Screener / Live, Strategy and Market. Each card says what it covers and how many kinds it has.
  2. 2
Pick a card, then one kind
Press a card. Under it, "Pick one" lists its kinds with a short description. Press one, then press Next.
  3. 3
    Choose the stocks
In step 2, "Watch" offers One stock, My watch list, Sector or Whole market (only the ones that kind allows). For One stock type the symbol; for Sector pick the sector.
  4. 4
Set the candle size and settings
Candle alerts ask for a candle size (15 minutes, 1 hour, 1 day): the check runs when a candle of that size closes. The Settings card holds the numbers for that kind — a price, a percent, a number of days.
  5. 5
    Choose how often
In "3. How often": Only once, Once a day, or Every time. Every time asks how many minutes to wait between alerts. "Only during market hours" is on by default.
  6. 6
    Choose where to send it
Send to: In app, Phone push and Email. At least one must be on.
  7. 7
Add an end date or a note (optional)
Switch on "Stop on a date" and pick the last day, or type a note — the note is shown inside the alert when it fires.
  8. 8
    Save
Save the alert. It appears in My alerts, switched on.
  9. 9
    Set up watch-list alerts
Open History & settings. In "Watch list alerts", switch the card on, then pick Buy price reached, Sell price reached, Stop price hit and, if you like, Price is near a level (with how near).
  10. 10
    Link and test your phone
Sign in on the NChartPro phone app. Your phone appears under "My phones". Press Send test — a test message should arrive within a few seconds.
  11. 11
    Read and clear fired alerts
History & settings lists alerts that fired, newest first, with a dot on new ones. Press "Mark all as read" to clear the count under the bell.
Prefer to be shown?
Open Alerts and press ? in the top bar. The guided tour walks the same parts on the live screen, in English or नेपाली, and you can pause it at any step.
Detail

Reading the numbers

  • A row in My alerts shows the kind of alert, what it watches, the stocks and how often, with small icons for where it is sent.
  • "Not live" next to a kind means the server does not feed it yet: it can be saved but will not fire.
  • "Plan limit" next to a kind means you have as many alerts on as your plan allows. Switch one off, or upgrade, to add another.
  • The count "3 of 10 alerts on" covers all your alerts — from the chart, this page and the portfolio page.

Honest limits

What it does not do

  • Chart signals — any indicator, Fibonacci, volume profile, VAR, SMC, patterns, trend lines — are made on the chart's Alert panel, not here.
  • Your plan sets how many alerts you can have on (Basic 10, Advance 20, Pro 30, Master 50, set by the NChartPro team). Free accounts have none.
  • Phone pushes need the plan to include them and the NChartPro app signed in on your phone.
  • Email is limited to 30 alert emails a day.
  • An alert never trades and is not advice.
